Massage can last as little as fifteen minutes for a seated session or up to 90 minutes for a table session. Average table sessions are 60 or 90 minutes. The various massage sessions offered are: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Connective Tissue, Stress Relief, Bodywork for the Childbearing Year, Myofascial Release, Lymphatic Drainage, CranioSacral Therapy, and Energy Medicine.

  • Swedish Massage is what many people think of when massage is mentioned. It uses long, light strokes, deep kneading, and small friction-type motions to release chronic tension, relieve stiffness and pain, improve circulation, and increase flexibility in the joints. The long and soothing strokes of Swedish Massage also aid in removing toxins from the body and delivering life sustaining nutrients to our tissues and cells. It is an excellent way to relieve the stress caused by work and the domestic pressures of our everyday lives.
  • Deep Tissue Massage focuses on specific muscles and their origins and insertions to help recover from strains and trauma more quickly. It can be very effective in relieving deep muscle tension held in the body by recent or past injuries. This technique is often used in conjunction with Swedish Massage.
  • Pre/Post Natal Massage caters to the special needs of pregnant and new mothers. During these times, a woman experiences major physiological, spiritual and social changes. Pregnant women, with their doctor's consent, can safely receive massage up until the day of delivery, and postpartum women may receive massage, again with their doctor's consent, within 24 hours after birth. Massage Therapy can provide a woman with both the alleviation of musculoskeletal discomfort, and sometimes, more importantly, the emotional support and nurturance during a critical life transition. This type of massage should only be administered by a Massage Therapist who holds a certification in this field
  • Stress Relief Massage combines a variety of techniques all geared towards deeply relaxing the body and mind.
  • Myofascial Release is effective in the treatment of many conditions including; chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and arthritis. By applying gentle stretching and compression to the fascia or connective tissue restrictions are freed that may have been created due to injury, trauma, poor posture, inflammation, scarring or stress. As flexibility is restored to the fascia, discomfort or limitations associated with these restrictions are relieved.
  • Lymphatic Drainage Therapy is beneficial for most people, and can be especially helpful in the treatment of inflammatory conditions such as; sinusitis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and in the healing of burns, scars or stretch marks. It is a great part of any detox program, and is also very relaxing! Gentle touch is used to activate and accelerate the flow of lymph (which is a very important part of our immune and detox systems) throughout the body increasing the body’s ability to drain fluids, detoxify, regenerate tissue and maintain a healthy immune system.
  • CranioSacral Therapy is profoundly relaxing, CranioSacral therapy can effectively address a wide range of common conditions including headaches, neck and back pain, and TMJ. Very light touch is used to evaluate and enhance the functioning of the CranioSacral System comprised of the brain, spinal cord and surrounding fluids and membranes. This in turns affects the entire Central Nervous System relaxing muscles and organs, while improving the overall comfort and health of the body. Sessions can be done fully clothed.
  • Energy Medicine heals the body and psyche by restoring balance to the body’s energy systems, including the central nervous system, which are responsible for maintaining health and vitality. When our energies are flowing smoothly and in harmony, we feel great and our body is able to naturally heal itself. Energy Medicine uses a variety of techniques to identify and correct imbalances in these energy flows. Since illness and stress result in and/or cause energy imbalances, Energy Medicine can help with ANY condition, including; cancer, fibromyalgia, pain of any kind, visual or learning problems, fatigue, depression, and stress.
